Taking
Vitamins Can Prevent Senility
The prestigious medical journal,
Neurology, recently presented a study from Hawaii
University, revealing that persons who used certain
supplements were less likely to suffer vascular dementia-the
second most common form of senility following Alzheimer's
disease.
Two vitamins in particular stood
out-vitamins E and C. Those persons taking both vitamins
E and C were 88 percent less likely to have vascular
dementia and 69 percent less likely to have other
types of dementia. Hardening of the small arteries
leading to the brain typically causes vascular dementia.
Often this type of dementia is really
caused by a "mini stroke." These strokes
are frequently so small that we are not even aware
of them except for minute damage to the brain, which
eventually presents itself with dementia, senility,
forgetfulness, and so on.
The study further speculated that
these particular supplements provide protection against
cell membrane injury and the brain cells themselves.
Pray about getting started on a good, balanced nutrient
supplement, rather than just taking vitamins E and
C or any other vitamin by itself.
God created the various vitamins,
minerals, plant extracts, etc. to work together and
to enhance and protect each other. Your ideal daily
supplement should include 800 IU of natural vitamin
E and 2000 mg. of vitamin C to protect yourself against
senility.
