Going Nuts Can Be Good for You
No, we are not talking about having a
nervous breakdown, but rather the daily consumption of nuts
in your diet to prevent disease. It seems that, once again,
numerous medical studies are confirming that God provided
numerous healing and protective benefits to man when He
created nuts. The top-ranked nuts having the greatest benefits
were almonds, walnuts, and peanuts.
A recent study released in the "British
Medical Journal" showed that regular consumption of nuts
leads to a 35% drop in the risk of having a heart attack.
Several large-scale studies have demonstrated a consistent
association between frequent nut consumption and the reduced
risk of coronary heart disease.
Remember
that heart disease and cardiovascular disease kills over
half of our population, so we need to pay attention to these
studies. One study demonstrated a 50% reduction in heart
disease among Seventh Day Adventists who consumed nuts at
least five days weekly. The Iowa Women's Health Study reported
a 57% reduction in heart disease in those who consumed nuts
regularly.
